About The Author

Plato (c. 427–347 BC) was an ancient Greek philosopher who founded the Academy in Athens, one of the earliest institutions of higher learning in the Western world. A student of Socrates and teacher of Aristotle, Plato is best known for his dialogues, including The Republic, which explores justice, politics, and the ideal state. His work laid the foundation for Western philosophy and continues to influence philosophical thought today.
