Japanese Fairy Tales

About The Author

Yei Theodora Ozaki (1871–1932) was a Japanese-British author known for her translations and retellings of traditional Japanese fairy tales. Born in London to a Japanese father and an English mother, Ozaki spent much of her life bridging the cultural gap between Japan and the West during the Meiji era, a time of significant modernization and Western influence in Japan. Her most famous work, "Japanese Fairy Tales," introduced Western audiences to Japanese folklore, and her efforts in cultural exchange have left a lasting impact on the appreciation of Japanese literature worldwide.
