About The Author

Rokeya Sakhawat Hossain (1880–1932) was a pioneering Bengali writer and social reformer known for her advocacy of women's rights and education. Her notable works include the feminist utopian novella Sultana's Dream and the essay collection Motichur, which challenged societal norms and championed gender equality. As a trailblazer in women's education, she founded the first school for Muslim girls in Kolkata, India.
