The Prologue

About The Author

Geoffrey Chaucer (c. 1343–1400) was an English poet and author, often referred to as the "Father of English literature." He is best known for The Canterbury Tales, a seminal work that offers a vivid portrayal of medieval society through a collection of stories told by pilgrims. Chaucer's use of the English vernacular in his writing helped to elevate the status of English in literature during a time when Latin and French were dominant.
