The Spanish Chronicle of the Cid

About The Author

Robert Southey (1774–1843) was an English poet and historian, part of the Romantic era, and served as Poet Laureate of the United Kingdom from 1813 until his death. He is best known for his epic poems such as "The Curse of Kehama" and "Thalaba the Destroyer," as well as his prose work "The Life of Nelson." Southey's contributions to literature include his role in popularizing the Romantic movement alongside contemporaries like William Wordsworth and Samuel Taylor Coleridge, and his works continue to be studied for their historical and cultural insights into the early 19th century.
